Spacious, open-plan room filled with charm, available for rent
A few decades back, Maria's rural house used to be a meeting place for all sorts of community activities.
Today, Maria is rejuvenating its original purpose with her arts and events project, REinventArte.
The Valley of Cabuérniga is well known for its artists, and the village of Terán is well located for people to come from the two valleys:
Artists would come to discuss arts and philosophy, and organise music or theatre evenings; The doctor would treat patients here once a week; Local shepherds would stop for a drink after their long day; And the car park at the front used to be a bowling alley! - as in, the game of Bolos, local to Cantabria.
When Maria took over the house in 2009, she did so with in mind to rejuvenate the house's initial purpose: bringing people together around friendship and arts.
She made sure to reserve a whole floor for events and gatherings, and gave it the inspiring name "REinventArte", a play on words meaning both Rejuvenation of Art, and Reinvention of Yourself. In this spirit, she has organised quite a few events herself, and makes the function room available for rent for external events too.
